Mrs. Betty Phillips Born, age 85, of Hiawassee formerly of Rex, passed away on June 29, 2017. Mrs. Born was a member of The Rock Baptist Church. She retired from Kraft Foods. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ivan Born; parents, Walter and Clara Phillips and sister, Frankie P. Smith. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Harold E. Smith; brother-in-law, Harmon and wife Ruby Born; nieces and nephews, Amy K. (Jay C.) Simonton, Philip H. Smith, Deborah L. Born, Deanne B. (Tom) Brackett, Phil (Karen) Born, Al (Phylis) Martin, Reneau (Michael) Karr, Gus (Connie) Born; great nieces and nephews, S. Kaitlin (Josh) Powell, Stephanie Freeman, Mary K. Simonton, Hannah E. Simonton, Bethany F. Simonton, Phil H. (Jamee) Smith, Jacob (Catie) Brackett, Joshua (Lindsey) Brackett, Krysten (Andrew) Simpson, Mandy ( Matt) Busby, Bran-Michael Karr; great great nieces and nephews, Madison Freeman, Hailey Busby, Dalton Busby, Carter Simpson, Madelynne Brackett, Annabelle Brackett, Amelia Brackett and Gus Brackett. A graveside service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, July 6, 2017 at The Rock Baptist Church Cemetery in Rex, GA.
