Bishop David Earl Vinson, Sr., age 71 of Calera, AL., went to be with the Lord on August 1, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. He was an ordained Bishop with the Church of God (Cleveland, TN) and pastored many churches in Alabama and one in Tennessee. He ministered the Gospel for 53 years. He truly with all of his heart loved his God and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents: Rev. Charles D. and Mavis Vinson, 1 unborn grandchild and 3 unborn great-grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years: Joan Vinson, daughter: Chasity (Jeff) Holsomback, son: David Vinson, Jr., grandchildren Ashley (Tyler) Strawn, Austin (Carol) Holsomback and Micah (Ziana) Holsomback, great-grandchildren: Waylon and Rylenn Holsomback, Angel, Gracie, Summer, Toby and Raylan Strawn, sister-in-law: Rita Ford, brother: Rickey (Pam) Vinson, sister: Keetha (Greg) Gann, several nieces and nephews and extended family members. Funeral Services will be held at 2 P.M. (CST) Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Jacksonville Church of God in Jacksonville, AL. with Rev. Tyler Strawn, Rev. David Daniels and Rev. Philip Parris officiating. Bishop Vinson will be placed in state at 12 PM (CST) prior to the service. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery, Alexandria, AL. The family will receive friends 4 p.m. (CST) - 6:30 PM (CST) on Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at the Pelham Church of God in Pelham, AL.
