MGySgt. Bobby Lamar "Bob" Herring, USMC Retired, age 76 of Lake Spivey went to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 26, 2015 after an extended illness. Bob Herring attended Lanier High School (Macon) and joind the Marine Corps at age 18 and served his country for 22 ½ years. He is a Vietnam Veteran, holds a Bachelors in History (Georgia State University). He is also retired from the State of Georgia. He is a former member of the Riverdale First Baptist Church and a member of Jonesboro First Baptist Church, where he served as his Department's SS Director. He was preceded in death by his parents; Elma Smith Mercer and Clark Herring of Macon, brother; Dennis Herring of Macon, and precious son; Michael Herring of Stockbridge. Bob Herring is survived by his wife of 55 years; Faye (Kitchens) Herring, daughter; Debbie Shaw (Tony) of Stockbridge, the joy of his life, grandsons; Justin Herring (Staci) of Stone Mountain and Matthew Shaw (Laura) of Camp Lejeune, NC, granddaughter; Kristen Herring of Stockbridge, step-grandchildren; Toni Tatum (Brian) of McDonough, Ashley Shaw of Zebulon, Alley Fegenbush of Stockbridge and Gabe Fegenbush of Stockbridge, daughter-in-law; Laurie Fegenbush of Stockbridge, sisters; Martha Sellars (Robert) of Juliette and Sara Moore of Juliette and many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2015, 10 am at Jonesboro First Baptist Church Chapel. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at the Georgia Veterans Cemetery in Milledgeville. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 28, 2015, 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Jonesboro First Baptist Church, "Food Pantry," P.O.
