In Loving Memory of Brendan Anthony Asher
February 9, 2000 – August 25, 2026
Brendan Anthony Asher, age 26, passed away on August 25, 2026. Born on February 9, 2000, Brendan lived his life with a passionate heart, a hard-working spirit, and a deep love for the people around him. Truly, to know him was to love him.
Brendan was a "gentle giant" with a brilliant mind and a wonderful sense of humor. He loved making people laugh and had a rare gift for connecting with others. He could easily get along with people of every race and age. He was fiercely protective of his family, and his love for them knew no bounds. Brendan also found great joy in nature and the peace of the mountains. He was passionate about his collection of guns and knives, and he shared a special bond with his beloved family dogs, Smokey and Toodles.
Brendan is survived by his devoted mother, Misty Asher Reyes; his padre, Miguel Reyes; his sister, Kayli Wilson-Asher, and sister-in-law, Sabrina; and his brother, Ian Reyes. He also leaves behind his grandfathers, Papa Mike Branch and Abuelo "Senior" Reyes Salgado; his grandmothers, Abuela Lilia Reyes and Grandma Karen Boynton; his uncle, Kyle Pape; his aunt, Jennifer Hooks, and uncle, Scott Hooks; as well as his cousins, Summer, Wyatt, Shiloh and his girlfriend, Liz Mayo.
He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Nonnie Trina Branch and Nana Jimmie Ruth Nix; his grandfathers, Grandpa Ken Boynton and Pop Grover Nix; and his uncle, Shane Scott and his lifelong puppy dog, Inky.
Brendan's warmth, protective nature, and laughter will be deeply missed but never forgotten by all who were blessed to know him.
I'm Free
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free,
I'm following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I've found that peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life's been full, I savored much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.
