Mr. Bruce R. Winkles, age 85 of Jonesboro passed away Thursday, April 5, 2018, after a lengthy illness with Alzheimer's. He was preceded in death by his parents R.E. Jesse & Susie Mae Winkles and siblings Bernard Winkles, Jack Winkles, Vivian Atchison and Myrtice Holbrook. Born and raised in Newnan, GA, he graduated from Southern Technical Institute and went to work for Western Electric and later Brownell Electro and Carlton Bates where he retired after 40 years of service. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who cared deeply for his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Mary Nell Winkles, and his two sons Daniel Grant Winkles and wife Ellyn, and Ronald Wayne Winkles and his wife Jessica. He is also survived by his four grandchildren: Joshua Thomas Winkles and wife Logan, Claire Grant Winkles, Raleigh Elizabeth Winkles, Parker Hale Winkles and two nephews Alan Winkles and Harold R. Holbrook.  The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at 2 PM at Morrow Presbyterian Church where Bruce was a long time member and faithful servant. Burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Forest Park.
