Carlton B. Ponder Mr. Carlton Blaine Ponder, age 78, of Morrow, passed away, January 6, 2012. He was retired from Glass Containers and Clayton County Board of Education. He was preceded in death by his parents; Arthur Dawson "Red" Ponder and Rosa Lee Ponder; and Jean Dover Ponder and Kathy McEachern Ponder. He is survived by his wife; Sherry Ponder, children; Valencia (Allen) Martin of Rex, Carlton, Jr. (Kim) Ponder of McDonough, Matthew (Cheree) McEachern of Douglas, GA, step-children; Nicky Evans, Jr., Stacy Odum, Michelle Odum all of Douglas, GA, sisters; Sara Ponder Youngblood of Albany, Betty Ponder Hoffman of LA, grandchildren; Natalie, Alex, and Anna Rose Martin, Kaylie and Leeia McEachern, several nieces, nephews, and his beloved dog; Bandie. Funeral services will be held, Monday, Jan. 9, 2012, at 1 PM in the chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. Pastors Larry Hammock and Matthew McEachern will officiate. Interment will be at Berea Cemetery in Hampton, GA. The family will receive friends on Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
