Mr. Cecil Deaver, age 85, of McDonough, passed away, May 8, 2012. He was born, March 5, 1927 in Cherokee County, NC to the late George Frank Deaver and Vella Merrow Deaver. Mr. Deaver was a member of Harvest Baptist Tabernacle. Mr. Deaver was an Army Veteran of World War II and was stationed in Austria. He had a career with Ford Motor Assembly Plant, Hapeville, GA for 36 years. He started work on the assembly line in 1949 and retired as Operations Manager in 1985. He is survived by his wife; Frances Deaver, daughter and son in law; Carol Diane and Garrett Hotte of Jackson Lake, step-son and spouse; Michael D. and Marcia Roberson of McDonough, sister; Helen Sosebee of Loganville, brother; Carl Deaver of Rutledge, brother and sister in law; Horace and Hyla Deaver of Stone Mountain, 4 grandchildren; Amber Ivie and spouse Brent, Ashley Jolly and spouse Brian, Mark Walls, Brandon Childress, step-granddaughter; Patti Ledford and spouse Charlie, great grandsons; Tyler Ivie, Landon Cash, step-grandson; Michael Ledford and spouse Amanda, many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held, Friday, May 11, 2012 at 2 PM at Harvest Baptist Tabernacle. Dr. Joe Arthur and Dr. David Maddox will officiate. Music by Bro. Tom Allen and wife Beth, Doug Freeman and Ann Teems. Interment will be at Resthaven Cemetery in Decatur. The family will receive friends, TODAY, Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
