Mr. Cecil M. Hand, age 96, of Newnan, formerly of Jonesboro, passed away on May 31, 2023. He worked 44 years with the Railroad. He was a Freight Agent and worked at the Jonesboro Depot until it closed. He served in the Navy during WWII. He also was a volunteer for 10 years with Sacred Journey Hospice and has been a member of Jonesboro First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wives: Iris Webb Hand and Gloria Mae Fernander Hand. He is survived by his children: Stanley E. (Pamela) Hand of Newnan, Nancy Hand Hepler of Indiana, sister: Dorothy Flowers, grandchildren: Brandon D. (Rachel) Hand and Carrie Richards, great grandchildren: Aidan Hepler, Raven Hepler, Daelyn Dawson, Presleigh Hand and Isabella Hand. A Graveside Service will be held at 3 PM on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Berea Church Cemetery in Hampton.
