Charles Ray Burns, 94, of Jonesboro, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 28, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on May 5, 1930, in Atlanta, Georgia, Charles was the beloved son of the late Florence Kuhn and Hobert Howell Burns. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Ann Farabow; his son, Mark Burns; and his brothers, Dan Burns and Harold Burns.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Charles served his country with honor, achieving the rank of Private First Class. After his military service, he built a career as an insurance underwriter, dedicating his life to helping others. In his free time, he found joy in watching football and spending time with family.
Charles will be dearly missed by his children, Stacy (Dennis) Roberts and Brian Burns; his grandchildren, Joshua Burns, Brandon Luke (Veronica) Roberts, Stacia (Lance) East, and Jacob Burns; and his great-grandchildren, Logan East, Avery East, and Karsyn East. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family members who will forever cherish his memory.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 9, at 3:00 PM at Camp Memorial Park.
