Mr. Charles Frederick DuBose was born on Friday, August 16, 1935 to Lelia Mae Solomon DuBose and Charlie Norman DuBose in Nicholls, GA. Mr. DuBose, a native of Douglas, GA, joined the United States Air Force in 1957. He met Barbara Gertrude Binner in 1960 in Wiesbaden, Germany. They married on October 29, 1961, shortly after his release from the Air Force. In 1962 he reenlisted and served a total of 21 years in the Air Force primarily as a radar repairman. He earned several commendations and completed several training courses in electronics, communications, and radar equipment during his time served. This service included the Vietnam War. He then worked for National Freight and then ARC Security Services for Delta Airlines. He had since retired. Mr. DuBose joined Bethel Baptist Church of Jonesboro in 1985. He served as a Deacon there from 1987 until his death. He passed away June 15th, 2018 preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Gertrude Binner DuBose, both parents, and three sisters, Wilma (Jane) Black, Barbara D. Lane and Dorothy DuBose. Survivors include a son, Charles & Angela DuBose, a daughter, Barbara Christine "Tina" and Jim Lewis, three sisters, Bernice Lyles, Jacquelyn Batchelor, and Nell Alvarez, all of Douglas; four grandchildren, Amanda (Jaried) McDonald, Stephanie (Ben) Rhodes, Kristy Michelle Lewis, and Ashley Nicole Lewis; and six great grandchildren, Elliana Renee McDonald, Dieter Paul Rhodes, Dakota Grace Lewis, Erykah Gertrude Lewis, Austin Paul Rhodes and one Rhodes to be delivered in December. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Friday, June 22, 2018 at Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Larry Burns officiating. Burial will take place at 2 PM, on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at Douglas City Cemetery in Douglas, GA. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM, Thursday, June 21, 2018 at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
