Mr. Clyde H. Curry, age 88, of Jonesboro, passed away September 18, 2012 after an extended illness. Clyde was born April 9, 1924 in Screven, GA. In his early years he was an automobile mechanic. He later worked as a long haul truck driver and retired from Bowman Transport Company after over 30 years of service. Clyde was a loving father and enjoyed spending his time away from work with his family. He was an avid fisherman and loved to take his family on fishing outings. He was a very good mechanic and was always happy to help family and friends with automobile repairs. Clyde is survived by his children Jack Curry, wife Judy, Harold Curry, wife Clarajane, Linda Wogan, husband Tom, Janet Woodard, and step-children, Kathy Mayo, Rhonda Lagasse, and Tom Bannister. Clyde's former wife of 31 years, Irene Curry Geeslin, passed away in 1992, and he is survived by his former wife of 21 years, Ann Curry. Clyde had 8 grandchildren, Cheryl Davis, Cecilia Curry, James W. Curry, Laura Curry, Brenna Danielson, Derek Curry, Brian D. Thompson and Christopher Woodard . A celebration of life for Mr. Clyde H. Curry will be held on Sunday September 30, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at Ford Stewart Funeral Home, 2047 Hwy. 138 S.E., Jonesboro, GA 30236. Rev. Ernie Forrester will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
