Dennis Carroll Butler, age 81 of Locust Grove passed away January 25, 2021 at Spalding Regional Hospital. Dennis worked for the Forest Park Fire Department from 1966 until 1968, and joined the Clayton County Fire Department in 1968. He retired from Clayton County Fire Department Station 4 in 1993 after serving 33 years where he was a part of the Honor Guard Team. Dennis was a member of Morrow Church of God and was also a Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents: Carroll and Clarise Butler, son: Rodney Dennis Butler and brother: Jack Butler. Surviving are his wife: Phyllis Butler, daughter: Tammy Butler Shelton (Mike) of Meansville, GA, grandchildren: Lacey Nichole Baker (K.J.), Michael Lance Shelton, Kelsey Michelle Dozier (Scottie) and Kirstie Shelton Aderhold (Matt), great-grandchildren: Kaden Scott Baker, Matthew Greyson Aderhold, Maddux Lance Baker, Madisyn "Sassy" Jane Baker and Harper "Sis" Blake Aderhold, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 12 p.m. Thursday, January 28, 2021 at the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home with Chaplain Ron Little officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Forest Park. The family will receive friends 4 p.m.-7 p.m. Wednesday, January 27, 2021 and 11 a.m.-12 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
