Obituary

Mr. E. Floyd Statham, age 77 of Canton, passed away May 2, 2022. Mr. Statham attended the University of Georgia where he was a member of the Chi Phi Fraternity. He grew up in the Buckhead Community where he attended R.L. Hope Elementary and Dykes High School.  He was in the Real Estate and Developent Industry for 55 years.  He was also a lifelong member of Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church where he made a profession of faith and was baptized in 1955. He was preceded in death by his parents: Benjamin G. Statham, Sr. and Pearl Gober Statham, and his aunt: Lucy Statham. He is survived by his sons: Richard C. (Miriam) Statham of McDonough, John W. Statham of Canton and Michael F. Statham of Atlanta, brothers: Benjamin G. (Linda) Statham of Alpharetta and Thomas G. (Ellen) Statham of Carrollton, grandchildren: Charles (Ally) Statham, Lauren (Brian) Petersen, Kailey Statham, Ben Statham, Evelyn Statham, Will Statham, Mikey Statham, Bear Statham, Rushton Statham and Dex Statham, great-granddaughters: Julianne Petersen and Marileigh Petersen, nieces and nephews: Jay Martinson, Craig Martinson, Anna S. Dirrim, Sarah Statham and Tommy Statham, and a special friend Dr. LaCretia Munroe and her daughter: Ella Stewart. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Second-Ponce de Leon Baptist Church, 2715 Peachtree Rd. NE, Atlanta, GA 30305, phone 404-266-8111, with Dr. C. Robert Marsh, Dr. Frank H. Crumpler and The Rev. John Condra officiating. He will lie in state from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. during which time a finger food reception/visitation will be held in the Fellowship Hall. Interment will follow at Historic Westview Cemetery.
The family will also receive friends from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m. Monday, May 9, 2022 at the residence of Rick and Miriam Statham in McDonough.
A gathering of family and friends will be held at a later date (TBA) at one of Floyd's favorite restaurants in Canton for a meal and to share favorite memories of Floyd with one another. Flowers will be accepted or in lieu of flowers donations may be made to Salem Baptist Church - Salem @ Keys Ferry Steeple Tower Fund, 1724 Hwy 155 N, McDonough, GA 30252, www.salemchurch.net
