Mrs. Edith Lorene Monson Smith, age 77, of Young Harris, GA, passed away, October 15, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmie O. Smith. She is survived by her children, Charles Alan Smith of Jonesboro, Steven (Denise) Smith of Jonesboro, Mark Smith of Young Harris; siblings, John (Jane) Monson of WA, Eddie Alley of FL, Charlotte Duggan of FL; grandchildren, Megan (Wesley) Addison, Stephanie Smith, Renee (Nathaniel) Edmondson, David Smith, Daniel (Ashley) Smith; great grandchildren, Ryan Addison, Kyle Addison, Bradyn Smith, Jackson Smith and Auden Edmondson. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, October 18, 2014 in the chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. The family will receive friends the day of the service from 12 Noon - 2 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
