Ellen Lee "Penny" Petree, age 83, of Stockbridge, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. Born on September 13, 1941, in West Virginia, Penny was the cherished daughter of the late John and Elizabeth Stefanou. She dedicated much of her career to working as a security guard before retiring. Penny had a deep love for the beach, traveling, and telling jokes. She never met a stranger, whether they liked it or not, but above all, she treasured time spent with her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 37 years, James Petree, her favorite only son, Mark (Melissa Chute) Chute, and her adored grandchildren, Chase (Mimi) Chute and Christian (Kasey) Chute. She also leaves behind many cherished extended family members, and dear friends. At this time, no formal services are planned.
Penny will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering love for her family and faith in God.
