Mr. Elmus Lamar Smith, age 65, of Locust Grove, passed away, February 21, 2015. Mr. Smith served in the United States Marine Corps. He was the Commander of the American Legion Post 258 in Jonesboro. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife Kay; children, Lamar W. Smith of Locust Grove, Tina K. Lee of Dahlonega, Alicin D. Thornton of Locust Grove, Julia Anne Thornton of Locust Grove; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 in the chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. Mr. Terry Smithson will officiate. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 23, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Park.
