Faye "Lynette" Sumner, age 81, of Stockbridge, Georgia, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025.
Born May 20, 1943, in Atlanta, Georgia, Lynette was the daughter of the late Hazel "Mae Ruth" Burnette and Harold Edward Looney. She was also preceded in death by her cherished husband of 59 years, Daniel Louis Sumner; her daughter, Jeri Pollard-Smith (and son-in-law, Greg Smith); and her sisters, Cheryl (Neal) Robertson, Donna Looney Kenny, and Sharon Looney Goodman.
Lynette dedicated much of her life to working as a real estate agent, a career she loved until her retirement in 2008.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim (Walter) Wolfe; her sisters, Debby (Benny) Howard and Karen (Edward) Slawson; her grandchildren, Brandon (Kayla Burge) Pollard, Cameron (Kerrah) Winters, Makayla (Shane) Shirley, and Lindsey Wolfe; and her great-grandchildren, Selina, Warren, Preston, Sawyer, and another one on the way. Lynette is also survived by her devoted caregiver for well over a year, Tykesha, and her beloved dog, Bandit "aka-Pup-Pup".
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 4, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. A funeral service will take place on Wednesday, March 5, at 11:00 AM at the Ford-Stewart Funeral Home Chapel. Following the service, Lynette will be laid to rest at College Park Cemetery.
