Mr. Fred Hammons age 91 of Jonesboro passed away September 20, 2017. Mr. Hammons was a member of Valley Hill Baptist Church and he was retired from the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his wife: Helen; daughter: Brenda Wood, and brother: Frank Hammons. He is survived by his son: Michael Hammons (Elizabeth) of Jonesboro; brothers: Glen Hammons (Charlotte), Richard Hammons (Phyllis) and Larry Hammons (Donna) all of TN; sisters: Nancy Wilson (Keith) and Ella Mae McCulloch (Jim) all of TN; 4 grandchildren: Sandra Wingert (Michael), Michael Hammons (Christy), Heather Hoard (Charles) and Scott Wood (Grace); 8 great grandchildren: Canon, Stella, Addy, Maverick, Kaylea, Allie, Emily and Austin. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, September 23, 2017 in the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park in Fayetteville. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM, Friday, September 22, 2017 at the funeral home.
