Lt. Col. (Ret.) Gerald "Jerry" Kopp, age 80, of Jonesboro, passed away, August 11, 2012. Mr. Kopp was a developer and builder and owned Koppar Corporation. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1972. He received the Distinguished Flying Cross while flying in Vietnam. Mr. Kopp was also an Eagle Scout while in the Boy Scouts. He was preceded in death by his parents; Clarence and Letha Jones Kopp. He is survived by his wife; Jean Lewis Kopp, children; Gregory (Karen) Kopp, Steven (Lisa) Kopp, brothers; Larry Kopp, John (Jeanie) Kopp, Richard (Veronica) Kopp, Michael Kopp, sister; Nancy Stultz, grandchildren; Steven (Samantha) Kopp, Danielle (Matt) Sargent, Brandon Kopp, great grandchildren; Dustin, Carley, Aubrey, Kale, Truin, and his beloved cat; Cassie. Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at 3 PM in the chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. Gene Hill will officiate. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery, December 7, 2012 at 9 AM with full military honors. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
