Mr. Glen E. Buckner, age 85, of Jackson, passed away on July 15, 2015. Mr. Buckner was the founder and visionary of Buckner's Family Restaurant. He was a entrepreneur and restaurateur. Mr. Buckner was also known as "Monkey Man" during his organ grinder days. He was a Captain of Morrow Police Department. He was also a Master Mason and Shriner. He served in the National Guard. He loved bluegrass music and was a guitar collector and trader. Mr. Buckner was also a gun collector and trader. He was a great jokester and loved to tell a story. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Evelyn; children, David (Cindy) Buckner of Jackson, Randy Buckner of Forsyth; half siblings, Gene Buckner of FL, Dorothy Rodgers of FL; grandchildren, Jason Buckner, Drew (Allison) Buckner, Lauren (Josh) Abernathy; great grandchildren, Kara Buckner, Briley Buckner, Braelyn Buckner, Bryant Buckner, Adelynn Abernathy, Lucy Abernathy and Shaw Abernathy. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Rock Springs Church, 219 Rock Springs Rd., Milner, GA 30257. The family will receive friends the day of the service from 10AM till 12 Noon at the church. Dr. Benny Tate will officiate. Interment will be at Rock Springs Church Cemetery.
