Mr. Glenn Leo Mathis age 91 of Jonesboro passed away February 21, 2018. Mr. Mathis was a member of Ash Street Baptist Church. He was a combat veteran in the U.S. Army during WWII in the 90th Infantry Division. He was preceded in death by his wife: Mattie Sue Mathis. He is survived by his children: Monroe "Monte" Mathis (Sarah) of Huntsville, AL, Marcus Mathis (Donna) of Riverdale, Emmie Lee (Johnny) of Jonesboro, Michael Mathis (Jean) of Byron, Vicki Norris of Pittsburgh, PA, Max Mathis (Sarah) of Peachtree City; sister: Modelle Mathis of Tucker; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, February 24, 2018 in the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Max Mathis officiating. Burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12-2 PM before the service. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Alzheimer's Association www.Alz.org or American Cancer Society www.cancer.org .
