Gordon (Doc) Baker, age 61, of Jonesboro, passed away Tuesday morning. A celebration of his life will be held 12:00 pm Saturday, April 21st at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home in Jonesboro, GA with Patrick Lane officiating. Gordon was a wonderful husband, father, Papa, and friend to all who knew him. Gordon is survived by his loving wife of 42 years and best friend of 46 years Barb Baker of Jonesboro, Son Andy (Lisa) Baker of Macon, Mother-in-law Norma Jean Bunch of Decatur, IL, Brother Greg Baker of Ft Walton Beach, FL, and Grand-daughter Abbey Baker. Gordon was a financial planner and motivational speaker. He received his Chartered Life Underwriter accreditation in 1980, his Chartered Financial Consultant accreditation in 1983, and his Masters of Sciences in Financial Services in 1988. The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm on Friday April 20, 2012 at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home in Jonesboro, GA.
