Mr. G.W. Young, age 92, of Jonesboro passed away April 4th, 2022.  Mr. Young served in the US Army during the Korean War as a Master Sergeant. He retired from Georgia Power in 1989 with 40 years of service as a Line Supervisor. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro. He was preceded in death by his wife: JoAn T. Young; sons: Tracy Young and Steve Young. He is survived by his son: Randy (Kathy) Young; daughters-in-law: Sherry Young and Phyllis Young; sisters: Elaine Mason and Carolyn Sanders; grandchildren: Dustin Randall Young, Katie Young Dickens, Eric David Young, Lauren Young Georgia, Kyle Joshua Young, and Lindsey Brooke Young; 7 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, April 6th, 2022 in the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Frank Pass officiating. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 PM, Wednesday, April 6th, 2022 at Trail Branch Cemetery in Cochran, GA.  The family will receive friends from 10-11 AM before the service at the funeral home.
