Mr. Harold Sims Cooley, age 89 of Jonesboro, Georgia passed away June 5, 2023. Harold was born July 26, 1933 to Gus and Bessie Mae Cooley. Affectionately known as "Bogie," he loved his family and cherished time spent together. Harold was always telling a joke. Whether it was the classic "snake in a peanut can" or one of his many other pranks or jokes, everyone who was lucky enough to be around Harold was sure to have a smile on their face and a good laugh during their time together. Like his brothers and sisters, Harold loved raw oysters, a Panama City, Florida staple. Mr. Cooley was preceded in death by his parents, Gus and Bessie Mae Cooley, brothers, Earl Cooley and wife Margie, Glen Cooley, Don Cooley and Paul Cooley; sisters, Modray Nell Knauss and Sarah Grace Crews and husband Gene, and sister-in-law, Sharon Harris Kendrick. He is survived by his wife, Helen Cooley; brother, Tommy Cooley and wife Olivia of Panama City, FL; brothers-in-law, Wayne Kendrick of Loganville, GA and David Knauss of Panama City, FL; sisters-in-law, Ivey Cooley and Alice Cooley of Panama City, FL and a number of nieces, nephews and extended family members. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 8, 2023 the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Waters officiating. Interment will follow at Mann Family Cemetery in Jonesboro. The family will receive friends 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service.
