Mrs. Hazel Brock Dorminy, a long time resident of Lake City, GA passed away on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at the age of 102 at Piedmont Henry Hospital. She was born on May 20, 1913 in Fairburn, GA. Hazel worked as a cosmetologist until she was 97 years old. All who knew her were blessed by her tenacity, optimism, sweet spirit, and strong Christian faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wiley Edward Dorminy; son, Bill Wade Dorminy; daughter-in-laws, Joann Dorminy and Beverly Dorminy; granddaughters, Pamela Karen Dorminy and Faith Dorminy. She is survived by her children, Wiley Edward Dorminy,Jr. and his wife, Jackie, Judy D. McIntyre and her husband, Nelson, and Jim Dorminy; grandchildren, Cindy D. Bynum, Gregory Fuller, Brock Dorminy, Ed Dorminy III, Judith D. Miniatis, Tracy D. Smith, Grant McIntyre, Heather D. Toney, Wade Dorminy; 20 great grandchildren and three great, great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Harvest Baptist Tabernacle in Jonesboro,GA. She will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Rev. Tom Allen will officiate. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
