Mrs. Helen J. Powell, age 90, of Newnan, passed away, October 30, 2012. She was a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and a graduate of The University of Georgia. She is survived by her son; Roy Powell of Newnan, daughter; Pam Askew of Greensboro, grandchildren; Chad Powell, Brandie Whitman, Brad Askew, d Heather Morris and several great grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held, Friday, November 2, 2012, at 1 PM in the chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. Dr. Stacy Thomas will officiate. The family will receive friends on Friday from 11-1 prior to the service.
