Mr. Henry L. Hand, Sr., age 84, of Barnesville, formerly of Stockbridge, passed away on May 9, 2015. He lived in Stockbridge for 30 years. He served in the U.S. Navy. He worked for the Life Insurance Company of Georgia and owned Hand Insurance Agency for 40 plus years. He was the 9th born of 14 children. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; children, Theresa (Randy) Greer of Barnesville, Beth (Chris) Fox of Alpharetta, Henry, Jr. (Anna) Hand of Barnesville; siblings, Byron "Butch" Hand of Fayetteville, Roy (Barbara) Hand, Sr., of Fayetteville, Louise Fowler of Fayetteville, Martha Stansell of Morrow; grandchildren, Rusty (Christy) Greer, Henry L. Hand III, Emma Fox, Ashley Fox, Taylor Mae Chandler; great grandchildren, Will Greer, Hayden Greer and Dylan Pasley. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Bethel Baptist Church in Jonesboro. He will lie in state one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
