Herbert (Herb) L. Kinser passed away at his home on Lake Spivey, GA on Monday, March 1st with his family after a courageous battle with Leukemia. The son of the late Herbert W. Kinser and Icie Lindsey Kinser, he was born the youngest of seven on November 2nd, 1942 in Brownsville, KY. After graduating from Male High School in Louisville, KY, he married Marilyn A. Striegel, who celebrated 57 years married. They built their home and grounds on Lake Spivey in Jonesboro, GA into the life of their dreams. He enlisted in the Air Force and was stationed in Korea during the Vietnam conflict. After his service, he worked as Lead Mechanic for Delta Air Lines in Atlanta, GA for 34 years. Herb was a resolute worker that saved for a bright future for his family. He coached his daughter's sports teams and transported his son's double bass throughout the US. Family was everything to him. He used his Delta flying privileges extensively to visit his children wherever they may be from coast to coast, as well as hosting memorable get-togethers on the lake. His brain was tireless. He was an inventor, craftsman and artisan that could make anything from scratch. He enjoyed welding metal, history, classic cars, boating on the lake, marvels of engineering, skiing in Colorado, and making hokey Elvis impersonations. He was a very serious man that could still light up a room with surprise clowning and humor. As a father, there was nothing that he would not do for his children and granddaughter. In addition to his wife Marilyn, Herb is survived by his daughter Tina and her wife Karen of Atlanta, and Troy and his wife Monique of Los Angeles and many nieces and nephews. He will be especially missed as Granddad Herbie by Véronique (Nica) Kinser.  Because of restrictions due to Covid, there will be no funeral service at this time. In lieu of flowers, please donate blood and palettes if you can. Blood is life for so many, but especially those fighting leukemia.
