Mr. Herbert Clifton Roper age 84 of Jonesboro passed away April 23, 2018. Mr. Roper served in the US Navy where he served on the USS Corregidor. He was retired from the US Postal Service, a licensed real estate agent and worked as bailiff for the Clayton County Court house. He was also avid Georgia Tech Fan and a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife: Pat Roper; children: Mike Roper (Rhonda) of Vienna, GA, and Lisa Roper Linn (Rick) of Jonesboro; grandchildren: Erin Patricia James (Mathan), Ashley Roper Yarber (Rob) and Alyson Michelle Roper; great grandchildren: Kaleb James and Andrew Yarber; sisters in law: Idyll Parker and Phyllis McGalliard. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, April 26th, 2018 in the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Shane Roye officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in College Park. The family will receive friends form 11:30 AM- 1:00 PM before the service at the funeral home.
