Mr. James "Larry" Brown, 75 of Jonesboro, Georgia, passed away on December 24, 2024. Larry retired from the Fulton County Board of Education Maintenance Department and was a member of the Family First Credit Union Board of Directors for over 30 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro and a faithful choir member.

Larry is survived by his wife, Ellen Brown; son, Jimmy Brown (Christi); daughter, Cindy Tarpley (Jeff); stepson, David Samchok (Kristine Pham); stepdaughter, Sara Samchok and his mother, Jane Holland. Also surviving are his grandchildren Emily Brown, Joshua Tarpley, Nathan Brown, Jordan Tarpley, Abby Brown, Colin Samchok and Madeline Samchok. He is also survived by his niece, Jamie Barnes (Jesse), and her children, Tyler, Tucker and Taylor. Mr. Brown is also survived by an uncle and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Brown and his brother, Bobby Brown.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 30, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro with Rev. Allen Davis and Dr. Wendell Webb officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 3:00-5:00 p.m. A burial service will be held at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta following the service.
