Obituary

James Kenneth (Ken) Quattlebaum, age 76, passed away in his home on October 4, 2018, after a 7-month battle with esophageal cancer. Ken was born on July 10, 1942 in Atlanta, Georgia, to Bill and Louise Quattlebaum. He is survived by his wife JoAnn Quattlebaum of McDonough, GA; son, Mark Quattlebaum; daughter Michelle Ford (Terry); step-daughter Krissy Lewis (Gary); step-daughter Leighanne Brown (Philip); step-son Ben Hawkins (Sarah); Mr. Quattlebaum was the proud grandfather of 11 grandchildren: Easton Quattlebaum; Patrick (Aly) and Zachary Ford; Graham and Harper Lewis; Katelyn, Taylor, and Walker Brown; Charles, Eli, and Henry Hawkins. He is also survived by younger brother, Wayne Quattlebaum (Tessie) and sister, Sylvia Pearson (Wayne).  Spirited and generous, Ken was a creative entrepreneur who was happiest when wheeling and dealing. He loved leading music whenever possible, spending many years as music director of Valley HIll Baptist of Jonesboro, Stewart Avenue Baptist of Hapeville,  Oakland Baptist Church of McDonough, Sandy Creek Church of Fayetteville, and Fairview Baptist of Jonesboro. He also served as a well-respected director of several local McDonough food ministries for many years. In the last decade of his life, Ken could often be seen at the local Waffle House enjoying conversations with friends and strangers alike. He will be missed by all that knew him. Family will receive friends on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 10-11 AM, at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home of Jonesboro, GA. A public memorial service for Mr. Quattlebaum will be held at 11 AM following the visitation in the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home with Dr. Gary Lewis and Rev.
