Mr. James F. Porter, age 82 of Jonesboro passed away November 9, 2016. Mr. Porter served in the Korean Conflict on the USS St. Paul from 1951-1955. He was preceded in death by his parents: Howell and Rosa Lynn Porter, siblings: Rosalind Porter, Rachel Higgins, Buddy Porter and Tommy Porter. Surviving are his wife: Nancy Porter, son: James Underwood and wife Christina of Havre, MT., step-daughter: Holly Morgan and husband Jeff of Independence, KY., sisters: Mary Doty, Thelma Laney and Pat Mays, grandchildren: Colbyn Underwood, Dalton Underwood and Gage Morgan. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 12, 2016, 4 p.m. in the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Al Baines officiating. The Family will receive friends Friday, 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
