Mr. James Sims, age 53 of Jonesboro passed away January 19, 2023. Mr. Sims was a truck driver and a member of Kenwood Baptist Church. His hobbies included playing the banjo and fishing. He was preceded in death by his father: William "Bill" James Sims and brother: Richard Lamar Sims. He is survived by his wife: Judy Sims, daughters: Marti Lockhart and Michelle Parrott both of Jonesboro, son-in-law: Philip Lockhart of Athens, mother: Nancy Sims Richardson of Rayburn, AL., brothers: William "Buck" Sims of Heflin, AL., Chris Sims of Rayburn, AL. and Johnny "Debot" Sims of Bowden, GA, sisters: Angela Simpson of Huguley, AL and Regina Richardson of Rayburn, AL, sister-in-law: Brenda Gay, granddaughter: Brittany Beck (Steven Stone), grandson: Austin Cook, nieces: Tesla Simpson Watson, Tiffany Simpson and Taylor Ann Sims, many cousins and extended family members. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 23, 2023 at the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home with Brother Lynn McClain officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 12 p.m. - 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
