Mr. James Hampton Swofford, age 83 of Jonesboro passed away August 9, 2023. Mr. Swofford was preceded in death by his parents: Horace and Nannie Mae Swofford, his wife: Rebecca June Hester Swofford and his sister: Jackie Cameron. He is survived by his son: James Hampton Swofford, II of Jonesboro, sister: Judy Hanson of N.C., grandchildren: April Kristin (Josh) Barham of McDonough, and Carl James (Jennifer Pledger) Swofford of Monticello, great-grandchldren: Austin Barham, Brady Barham, Clayton Barham, Carson Swofford and Colton Swofford. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2023 at the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. The family will receive friends 10 a.m. - 11 a.m., prior to the service.
