Janice Marie (Meyer) Duzan passed away at Southwest Christian Hospice on Nov. 2, 2014, with her niece Karla Sue Scheer, daughter, Dana Marie Duzan and husband, Billy M. Duzan at her side. Born in Clarence, IA on Dec. 24, 1944 to Hugo and Alice (Kroemer) Meyer and raised on a farm in Lowden, IA. Upon graduation in 1962 she went to Minneapolis, MN to secretarial school. In 1969 she relocated to Atlanta, GA where she met her husband Billy. They were married on Dec. 19, 1969. Daughter Dana Marie was born on Dec. 16, 1973. Jan retired from the State of GA, Office of Legislative Counsel after 34 yrs. She and Billy resided in Jonesboro, GA. She was preceded in death by her mother, father, sisters Phyllis Moore, Dorothy Scheer, Arlene Berntsen and brother Robert Meyer. She is survived by her husband Billy, daughter Dana of Acworth, GA, sister Carol Lake of Iowa City, IA, sister-in-law Marge Meyer of Cedar Rapids, IA, and brother-in-law James Moore of Tipton, IA. Also brothers and sisters-in-law LJ and Shirley Duzan of St. Petersburg, Fl. Faye Duzan of Douglasville, GA, Rusty Duzan of Emeson, IN, Mike and Connie Duzan of Winchester, TN, and Shawn and Mark Barnes of Flowery Branch, GA, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews in IA, GA, and IN. A special nephew Jeff (Deborah) Berntsen of Newnan, GA and his son Austin. A very special niece, Karla Sue Scheer of Lowden, IA (She also considered her to be like a daughter and sister).
