Mrs. Jeanette Evelene Walker New age 85 of Stockbridge went to be with the Lord on October 17, 2018. Mrs. New was born in Social Circle, GA but grew up in Atlanta. She was a member of Eagles Landing First Baptist Church. She retired from Clayton County lunchroom after 25 years. She loved her family and spent as much time with as possible. Most people knew her as Maw-Maw. She was very loving and giving, and liked bingo, travelling, and cooking. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years: James "JW" New. She leaves behind three children: Linda Chastine (Henry) of Stockbridge, Larry New (Dale) Eatonton, Mark New (Peggy) of Hogansville; sister: Johnnie Culverhouse of Warner Robbins; 9 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, October 21, 2018 in the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Howard Greer and grandson Andrew Alford officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Forest Park. The family will receive friends from 12-2 PM Sunday before the service at the funeral home.
