Mr. John Warren Cozad, age 89 of Stockbridge, passed away April 11, 2023. He moved to Georgia from Huntington, Indiana after graduating from Valparaiso Tech.  After a short stint in the Army he began his working career with Motorola working on 2-way radio maintenance.  He met and married Margaret Hardman and they began their life together raising their three children on Lake Spivey.  After starting and running his own business, Cozad Communications, he brought racquetball to the Atlanta area by opening Southlake Racquetball Club in the early 1980's before retiring to a life of golf, racquetball and socializing.  John was a private pilot, a member of Jonesboro First United Methodist Church, and a Veteran of the US Army. Mr. Cozad is survived by his wife: Margaret Cozad, children: Kerry (Edith) Cozad of Rockwell, TX, Shelly Keyser of Yalaha, FL and Neil (Sheila) Cozad of Jonesboro, grandchildren: Kirstie Keyser, Warren Keyser, Evan Hardman Cozad, Michael Watson and Joshua Watson and extended family members. A Memorial Service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, 2023 at The Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home with The Rev. Dr. Valerie Loner officiating. The family will receive friends 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
