John Little, 94, of Jonesboro, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
Born on September 1, 1930, in Hampton, Georgia, John was the son of the late Evelyn Clower Little and Alba Little. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Renea Little Belga, and his brothers, Jimmy Little, Joe Little, and Charles Little. John proudly served in the United States Army. After his service, he felt a strong calling to ministry but ultimately believed God was leading him to serve others through his work. He followed that conviction by opening his own auto service and repair businesses. In the early 1970s, he founded Little's Gulf Service and later built and opened J&M Auto Service in 1980, which he successfully operated until selling to retire. His work was not just a livelihood, but a mission field—he was always eager to share his faith in God, welcoming everyone with a warm smile and embrace.
A faithful member of Jonesboro First United Methodist Church for over 70 years, John lived his life as a testimony of love, service, and integrity. He had a deep passion for tennis and played well into his 80s, remaining active and spirited until the age of 86. John is survived by his devoted wife of 72 years, Betty Little; his children, Debbie Little Bonnell (Tom) of Hampton, Cindy Little Patterson of Hampton, and Mark Little (Donna) of Jonesboro; and his siblings, William Little, Richard Little, Steve Little, and June Little Taylor. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Natalie Carlisle and Kayla Haggenmaker; great-grandchildren, Emmy Carlisle and Laylin Haggenmaker; along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends. At this time, no formal services are planned.
