Mr. Joseph A. Ballard, age 102 of Jonesboro passed away January 31, 2018. Mr. Ballard was longtime member of First Baptist Church Jonesboro, and was preceded in death by his daughter: Beverly Ballard and son: Gerald Ballard. Surviving are his wife: Mrs. Lucile Mundy Ballard, son: Douglas C. Ballard of Arlington, GA, brother: Charles Ballard and wife Jeanette of Fayetteville, sister: Ada Hewell of Peachtree City, sister-in-law: Janice Ballard of Fayetteville, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, February 2, 2018 in the Chapel of First Baptist Church Jonesboro with Dr. Charles Q. Carter, Rev. Irvin Pearre and Rev. Hinton Harris officiating. He will be placed in state at 12 p.m. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park.
