Mrs. Josephine Swaney, age 91 of McDonough passed away August 14, 2022. Mrs. Swaney was preceded in death by her parents: Leon and Mary Swinney,  and brothers: Leonard Swinney and C. A. Swinney. She is survived by her husband of 66 years: Ernest Irving Swaney, children: Jill S. Hardy of Stockbridge, Donald (Lynne) Swaney of Loganville and Jennifer White of McDonough, grandchildren: Brandon Hardy, Kristen (Nathan) Melton, Ben (Simcha) Swaney, Tim (Jessa) Swaney, Katie (Tyler) Virkstis, Jamie (Paul) Hagerty and Susan Harris, great-grandchildren: Madison Shaw, Ayden Hardy, Grace Hardy, Crosby Swaney and Lily Virkstis and nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 20, 2022 at the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Scott Miller officiating. The family will receive friends 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. prior to the service.
