Mrs. Joy Burns Merriman, age 60, of Maryville, TN, formerly of Hampton, GA passed away, October 16, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Fred Burns and Nora Thompson Burns. She is survived by her husband, Tad; children, Benjamin Tad (Rebecca) Merriman of Concord, NC, Lindsay (Jeff) Lewis of Maryville, TN, Lisa Prevatte Hadde of Belleville, MI.; grandson, Leyton Knox Lewis; cousins, nieces, nephews; caregivers, Linda Morton, Sherri Staley, and Pat Delozier; and a group of very loving friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 5-7 PM at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home, Jonesboro, GA. Joy will then be taken back to Maryville, TN. Funeral services in Tennessee will be held, Friday, October 18, 2013 at 7 PM at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, 220 W. Broadway Ave., Maryville, TN 37801, phone: 865-982-6812. The family will receive friends there from 5-7 PM the day of the service. Interment will be at Pecks Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery in Maryville, TN on Saturday, October 19, 2013. Dr. Tim Jones will officiate.
