Joyce Strickland Crane, age 85, of Jonesboro, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Audry P. Crane. Joyce and Audry owned and operated A.P. Crane Electric, Inc. Mrs. Crane was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro and more recently, a member of First Christian Church of Jonesboro. Mrs. Crane was devoted to her family and friends. She faithfully cared for her husband and helped him successfully manage his diabetes for the 53 years of their marriage. She also took good care of herself, eating healthily and walking on her treadmill every day. Mrs. Crane enjoyed socializing with her friends and discussing politics and current events at her favorite local lunch spots. She was an avid reader and lifelong learner and loved matching wits with the contestants on Jeopardy each day. Mrs. Crane is survived by her son and daughter-in-law; Jon and Sandra Crane of Jonesboro, daughter and son-in-law; Julie Crane Rickey and Bruce Rickey of Marietta, grandchildren; Joshua Crane and Kimble Crane and great grandchild; Jordan Bryce Bacon. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 21, 2013 at 2 PM in the chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. Pastor Wade Hall and Rev. Irvin Pearre will officiate. Interment will be at Sherwood Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 20, 2013 from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
