Karen McDonald Nash, beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister, passed away August 22, 2018 at the age of 61. Karen is survived by her husband, Robert (Bob) Nash; her children, Robert Alexander Nash (Kellen Greenway) of Athens, GA, and April Marie Nash (Phil Bolus) of Seattle, WA. She is survived by her father, John Evans McDonald of Huntsville, AL, and her sisters, Susan McDonald (Carlos Carvajal) of Huntsville, AL; Janet McDonald of Atlanta, GA; and Lisa McNamee (David McNamee) of Palm Harbor, FL; mother-in-law, Marie Nash of Jonesboro, GA. She was preceded in death by her mother, Millie Pilch McDonald. Karen grew up in the Lake Spivey neighborhood near Jonesboro, Georgia, the second daughter of John and Millie. She graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Industrial Engineering in 1979 and was employed by Siemens-Allis in New Orleans and Northern Telecomm in Stone Mountain. In her heart, she always remained an enthusiastic Ramblin' Wreck. While at Tech she met the love of her life, Bob Nash, to whom she was married for 35 years. Karen enjoyed traveling, photography, she had a love of water sports, gardening and boating. Ten years ago, Karen and Bob moved back to the McDonald family homesite on Lake Spivey, where Karen was 2018 President of the Emerald Green Club, a neighborhood women's group. Their home was the favorite spot for the extended family Thanksgiving gathering each year. Karen died from complications of Multiple Sclerosis, a disease she battled courageously for 30 years. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, August 27, 2018 in the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 26, 2018 from 2-4 PM at the funeral Home.  Rev. Josh M. Bray will officiate.
