Mr. Kenneth Robert Combs, Jr., age 77, of Jonesboro, passed away, June 2, 2012. Kenneth was an active member of Jonesboro First Baptist Church for more than thirty-seven years. He taught Sunday school, participated in mission trips, and worked with his beloved Saints Alive group. For many years, Ken also served as President of Christian Air Ministries in Griffin, GA. He also served on a Citizen's Review panel for Clayton County Juvenile Court. Ken worked for Delta Airlines in the Power House Machine Shop and the Technical Publications Department. He retired in December 2001. He is survived by his wife; Virginia Garner Combs, children; Connie Combs Motes and her husband Steven Motes, Carol Combs Ashby, Elizabeth Thomas Delesante, Laura Thomas, Rob Combs and his wife Iliana Combs, grandchildren; Daniel Delesante, Samantha Combs, Abigayle Combs, Sydney Combs, brother; John F. Combs and his wife Lois, sisters; Thelma Combs Kelly and Winifred Combs Palmieri. Funeral services will be held, Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at 11 AM in the Worship Center of Jonesboro First Baptist Church. Entombment will be at Camp Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Ken requested that donations be made to Save R Kids, a christian orphanage in Guyana, which God led him to support since it inception.
