Larry Sanford Yarbrough, born in October 1945, passed away May 1, 2026. A resident of Jonesboro since 1975, Larry built a life marked by humor, integrity, and devotion to those he loved. Larry graduated from LaGrange College in 1967 with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting before proudly serving in the United States Army from 1967 to 1970. His professional life was defined by more than five decades of leadership as Partner and Chief Financial Officer at McCleskey Mausoleums & Construction Company.
It was impossible to meet Larry and not come to know his love of golf, both the joy and peace he found on the greens throughout his life. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ann Yarbrough, with whom he shared a lifetime of adventures. Larry is preceded in death by his son, Ryan Yarbrough. He is survived by his daughter and son‑in‑law, Rhonda and Jonathan Riedel; and his grandchildren, Jacque Yarbrough, Jacob Yarbrough, Edgar Riedel, and Eliza Riedel, all of whom he loved dearly.
Those who knew Larry will remember his storytelling, his sense of humor, his supportive nature, and the gentle steadiness he brought into every room. To his family, he was a man of quiet strength, warmth, and generous spirit—someone who led not with words, but with example. Services will be held at Ford-Stewart Funeral Home, located at 2047 GA-138, Jonesboro, GA 30236, on Saturday, June 27, 2026, with family visitation from 1:00–2:00 p.m. and the service beginning at 2:00 p.m.
