Lt. Henry S "Chick" Lee age 93 of Jonesboro passed away November 4, 2016. Born January 29 1923 in Jonesboro to Willie and Kate Lee. Hired in 1959 as the 12th Clayton County Policeman. He served Clayton County for 30 years. He gave his life to Christ in 1948 and served Him the rest of his life. He was a deacon at Corinth Baptist church for many years, a church he loved and built. He was a member of Tara Baptist Church and loved his church family. He is preceded in death by his parents Willie and Kate Lee, his wife of 62 years Virginia "Ginny" Lee, brothers Bernard, Lynn, and Watson Lee, sisters Willie Kate Duffey, Carolyn Burnham, and Merle Duffey, great granddaughter Summer Lee. He is survived by his children Sandra (Tom) Cromer, Wayne (Teena) Lee, Duel (Jean) Lee, Rocky (Joan) Lee, and Cindy Lee, 13 Grandchildren, 31 Great grandchildren and 2 Great Great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2 PM, Monday, November 7th, 2016 at Tara Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Jonesboro City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM, Sunday, November 6th, 2016 at the funeral home.
