Mrs. Marcelle Chatham, age 93, of Jonesboro, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014. She was born in the old Milton County, Alpharetta, GA, on December 14, 1920. She loved her family, reading and gardening. She suffered from a long term illness which limited her abilities to do her favorite hobbies. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Pauline Gibson and her siblings, Robert Gibson, James Gibson, Hugh Don Gibson, Grace Burton and Wylene Mathis. She is survived by her loving husband of 76 years, Charles L. Chatham; sons, Charles Rodger Chatham of Douglasville, Ronald Gibson Chatham and wife Davilla of Florence SC; grandsons, Ronald Scott (Heather) Chatham of Hope Mills, SC, Daniel (Amanda) Chatham of Douglasville; great grandchildren, Abigail Chatham, Nathaniel Chatham, Joshua Chatham and Annabelle Chatham. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 27, 2014, 11 a.m. at the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home with Pastor Ronald Scott Chatham and Rev. Tremaine Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Rogers-Bell Family Cemetery in Duluth. The family will receive friends Wednesday, 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
