Dr. Marina Delores Vander Wal, age 86 of Jonesboro passed away August 5, 2019. Dr. Vander Wal was a Pastor's wife, served in the U.S. Air Force, was a member of the American Legion and a member of Harvest Baptist Tabernacle. Dr. Vander Wal was the founder of the Arts Program at Florida Christian School and retired after 29 years of service, lastly serving as Elementary Principal. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Dr. Raymond Dale Vander Wal, Sr., son: Raymond Dale Vander Wal, Jr. of Miami, FL, daughters: Robin Keebler and husband Don of Jonesboro and Penny Renee Wright of Jonesboro, grandchildren: Ben Harris, Ashley Robison, Liz McGuire, Andrew Harris, Justin Keebler, Chris Wright, Rebekah Reiner and Desiree Vander Wal, great-grandchildren: Carter, Aubrey, Stella, Kaden, Kai, Abe, Giana, Tobin and Abree. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the Chapel of Ford-Stewart Funeral Home. Interment will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2019 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton. The family will receive friends 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
