Mr. Marlen Ernest Baerenwald age 87 of Jonesboro passed away December 20, 2018. Mr. Baerenwald was baptized on November 1, 1931 at Zion Evan Lutheran Church Iona, MN and his confirmation was at Bethel Lutheran Church on June 16, 1946 in Round Lake, MN. He was a member of Christ Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church in Griffin. He served on several church committees at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Stockbridge. He was retired as a pilot from Eastern Airlines after 21 years of service. He was a founding member of the Georgia Antique Engine Club and he played in several Bluegrass bands through out the years. He is preceded in death by his first wife: Joanne and sister: Jean White. He is survived by his wife: Kathy; children: Lori (Don) Camp of Jonesboro, Marla Settle of Rome, and Becky (Jim) Mattocks of Roswell; brother: Dean Baerenwald of River Falls, WI; sister: Joan (Robert) Bauer of Rochester, MN; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, December 29th, 2018 at Christ Our Savior Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3235 Teamon Rd., Griffin, GA 30223 with Rev. Joe Warnke officiating. Burial to follow at Westminster Memorial Gardens.
