Mrs. Marlene Dorothy (Mitchell) Jones age 78 of Jonesboro passed away May 20, 2016. Mrs. Jones was a member of The Rock Baptist Church and a member of the Eastern Star in Forest Park. She was preceded in death by her husband: Kenneth Bruce Jones; parents: James E. Mitchell, Jr. and Dorothy Sutton Mitchell; and 1 Brother: Timothy H. Mitchell. She is survived by children: Melonie Jones (Beverly) of Jonesboro, Kenneth B. Jones (Deborah) of Lake City, GA, and Wesley B. Jones of Olathe, KS; brothers: J. David Mitchell (Jean) of Hampton, GA, Stanley E. Mitchell (Vicki) of CA, and Dennis M. Mitchell (Fran) of Morrow, GA; grandchildren: Jason Kenneth Jones (Rachael) of Athens, GA, Chase Monroe Jones, Brady Owen Jones, and Preston David Jones all of Olathe, KS; also several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Monday, May 23, 2016 at The Rock Baptist Church with Pastor Steve Foster officiating. Burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens.
